Fossil arachnid. Arachnids are a class of eight-legged animals that include spiders, scorpions, harvestmen, ticks, and mites. This fossil, which was found in Germany, dates back to about 145 million years ago (in the Early Cretaceous epoch) and measures about 3 centimetres.
