Description
Fish fossil. Fossilised head of an Enneles audax fish. Fossils appear as rock slowly forms around objects buried in mud. As the rock forms, the shape and anatomy of buried animals and plants can be preserved. This specimen, which dates from the Albian stage (between 112 and 99 million years ago), was found in Brazil.
