Artist's Description
Henry Ford (1862-1947), US inventor, industrialist and automobile pioneer, with his 1896 Ford Quadricycle (right) and the ten millionth Ford Model T. The Ford Quadricycle was the first automobile that Henry Ford made. It was powered by a two cylinder ethanol engine. Ford's introduction of production line techniques made automobile ownership more affordable for the American middle classes and fifteen million Model Ts were eventually made. Photographed on 4th June 1924.
