Fallow deer buck grazing. Head and shoulders of young fallow deer (Dama dama) buck eating nettles. This large deer is found throughout most of Europe and parts of the Middle East. This is the deer commonly found in parks in the UK. Their main distinguishing characteristic is the white spots on their backs. They are herbivorous ruminants, feeding mainly on grass.
