Description
Boulder. View of a large granite boulder seen in Yosemite National Park, California, USA. Boulders are detached, rounded masses of rock usually produced by weathering or erosion. In this case chemical weathering of granite has shaped these boulders. Yosemite National Park was carved into valleys by glaciation. Therefore this rock may have been transported to it's present destination by glacial ice. Yosemite National Park was established in 1890. It covers over a thousand square miles and sits in the Sierra Nevada range of mountains.
