Description
Eclipse cartoon from Punch magazine, 15th June 1927. A visitor informs a Royal Astronomical Society (a society for British astronomers) official about the total solar eclipse on 29th June 1927, believing that it may be of interest" to the society. A total solar eclipse occurs when the moon passes across the Sun as seen from Earth. Total solar eclipses usually occur less than once a year and can only be seen from a small area of the Earth's surface."
