Eastern Mediterranean region, Terra satellite image. North is at top. The island of Cyprus is at upper centre. At lower left is the Nile Delta, its lush vegetation following the path of the river. To the east of the Nile is the Gulf of Suez, which runs down the western side of the Sinai Peninsula. To the east of Sinai is the Gulf of Aqaba. North of the Gulf of Aqaba is the landlocked Dead Sea. Photographed on 1st November 2002.
