Scanning electron micrograph of an ear mite (Otodectes cynotis). Ear mites live in the ears of humans and animals. This particular species is the most commonly found in veterinary medicine. Despite cynotis" meaning "of the dog" this mite is the cause of 90% of ear mite infections in the cat. Magnification x1012 (x240 at 10cm wide)"
