Description
Dodge brothers in their first car. US automobile manufacturing pioneers Horace Elgin Dodge (1868-1920) and John Francis Dodge (1864-1920) being driven in their newly developed automobile, the Dodge Model 30. This car was produced at the Dodge Brothers Motor Car Company factory, Hamtramck, Wayne County, Michigan, USA. The brothers, who were close as children and adults, formed a team, with Horace the engineer and John the salesman. They gained great wealth, but died in the same year from the effects of Spanish influenza. This photograph dates from circa 1914.
