Daedaleopsis confragosa fungus attached to the trunk of a tree. This bracket fungus grows on dead and living wood of broad leaved trees, particularly alder, birch and willow. It can vary greatly in colour but is most often brick red. Photographed at Braunton Burrows, Devon, UK.
