Cooked turkey. Cooked turkey served with roast potatoes. Turkeys (family Phasianidae) are poultry fowls and so the meat they produce is known as white meat. Meat, although high in protein, is also high in saturated fats which can raise cholesterol levels in the blood. This can increase the risk of coronary heart disease and strokes.
