Description
Contraception. Artwork of assorted contraception methods. An unrolled condom (bottom left) and its packaging (square, bottom right) are seen. Between these two items is a diaphragm (or 'cap'). Both of these items are barrier methods of contraception, with the diaphragm being designed to fit over the neck (cervix) of a woman's uterus, and the condom fitting over a man's erect penis. Hormonal methods of contraception include contraceptive pills taken daily (top left) and emergency morning-after pills (centre right) taken up to three days after unsafe sex. The other five devices, intra-uterine devices (IUDs) of various shapes, are placed in the uterus to prevent the implantation of a fertilised egg.
