Artist's Description
Conductor in magnetic field experiment. Apparatus used to measure the strength of the force exerted on a current-carrying conductor (copper wire) in a magnetic field. A copper wire is connected across a power supply (top left), and placed between two permanent magnets resting on an electronic balance (scale, silver). The multimeter (top right) is used to check the current. When a current is passed through the wire, a downward force is induced, which can be measured on the balance and read on its screen.
