Description
Common furniture beetle (Anobium punctatum), coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM), emerging from a wooden hole. The larvae of this species feeds on wood and are commonly refered to as 'woodworm'. An infestation can cause large scale structural damage to timber in buildings. Adult furniture beetles do not feed. Magnification x35 when printed 10cm wide.
