Description
Fibroblast cells. Coloured scanning electron micrograph of fibroblast culture cells. Fibroblast cells are actively dividing cells that develop into connective tissue in the body. Unlike many types of mammalian cell they can be kept alive and made to multiply in the laboratory. They are often used to study how genes control growth and multiplication. Such research could shed light on what makes cells multiply uncontrollably in cancer. Magnification: x1,250 at 7x5cm size x1600 at 4x5 inch size.
