Description
City centre tram. Tram (streetcar) operating near Grand Circus Park on Woodward Avenue, Detroit, Michigan, USA. The Central United Methodist Church is in the background at right. Known as QLine, this is the first tram system in the city since 1956. It runs for 5.3 kilometres along Woodward Avenue (M-1), operating on electric batteries and overhead electric power lines. It is operated by M-1 Rail, with a rolling stock of six articulated 3-section, low-floor Brookville Liberty Modern Streetcars, each 20 metres long. It is expected to transport several thousand passengers daily. Photographed on the opening day of 12 May 2017.
