Description
Cirrus clouds over a sand dune. Cirrus clouds are found at high altitudes, usually above 5000 metres. They consist of tiny ice crystals which are blown by the wind into characteristically wispy shapes. A bank of cirrus clouds may indicate an approaching weather front. Photographed in Kansas, USA.
