Description
Paper chromatography. Coloured streaks left by different colour dyes in a paper chromatography experiment. A line of food colour was drawn on filter paper. The end of the filter paper is then dipped into water. As the water diffuses upwards, it carries dye molecules along with it. The higher the solubility of the molecule in water, the further up the paper it travels.
