Description
Charles Francis Jenkins (1867-1934, left), American inventor and cinema pioneer, demonstrating one of his projectors. Jenkins undertook the first public television demonstration in the USA on 13th June 1925. His television used mechanical rather than electronic technologies. Jenkins was granted over 400 patents during his lifetime for diverse inventions including improvements to the internal combustion engine, a sight-seeing bus and radiovision.
