Description
Carl August Wunderlich (1815-1877), German doctor. Wunderlich used clinical methods to diagnose illness, specifically temperature measurements. He was the first to keep temperature charts of patients, even though thermometers at the time were over 30 centimetres long and took 20 minutes to register. Wunderlich also introduced the idea that fever was a symptom and not a disease.
