Description

Cannabis germination. Light micrograph of the radicle, or primary root (yellow) emerging from a germinating Cannabis sativa seed. A number of products can be made from the cannabis, or hemp, plant, including hemp fibre, medicinal drugs, marijuana, hashish and oil. It has been used as a recreational drug and medicinal plant for thousands of years. It has been shown to be effective in the treatment of chemotherapy induced nausea and vomiting and chronic pain. It is also used to stimulate hunger in chemotherapy and AIDS patients and to relieve spasticity in multiple sclerosis patients. Magnification: x7 when printed at 10 centimetres wide.
