Description
Brine shrimp (Artemia salina), light micrograph. This crustacean is found in salt lakes and can tolerate a wide range of salinities. It is able to excrete excess salt from its body through its gills. Adults measure between 8 to 15 millimetres in length and have 11 pairs of legs. The compound eyes (black dots) are set on stalks. Magnification: x6 when printed at 10 centimetres wide.
