Description
Boudinage in metamorphic rocks. Boudinage (lower right) is a small-scale deformation that is formed when layered rock gets compressed, but some rock layers resist compression more than others. Here, the rock surface has been polished by glacial action. Photographed on the edge of Gorner glacier, Zermatt, Switzerland.
