Artist's Description
MODEL RELEASED. Microscopic Black hole simulation on a computer illustration of the Large Hadron Collider at CERN, Geneva. Colliding beams of subatomic particles produce showers of decay particles, indicated by the coloured tracks, and are observed passing through the eight-fold arrays of detector rings. (The inner rings of the detectors have been removed for clarity). In 2014 the Higgs Boson was observed by the LHC and CMS detectors. The colours of the tracks show different particles emerging from the black hole decay following the proton-proton collision. .
