Description
Black-headed gull (Chroicocephalus ridibundus) drinking from water in which it is reflected. This gull has a brown head in the summer and a white head in the winter. It breeds in Europe, Asia and eastern Canada, migrating further south in winter. It is a small gull, with a wingspan of 94-105 centimetres and a length of up to 44 centimetres. The black-headed gull is omnivorous. Photographed at the end of April, in the Scottish Highlands.
