Description
Bioreactor culture bag tubes. These bags are for the Cellmaker system from the Cellexus company. This system produces proteins from algae and microbes such as yeast and E. coli. These proteins are then used in foods, medical diagnostics, biofuels and pharmaceuticals. Unlike other systems, the Cellmaker uses a novel airlift technology. It is designed to simplify fermentation and cell culturing, optimising aeration mixing and temperature control. Cellexus is a Scottish company based in Dundee, who manufacture and distribute high-performance, fully automated, single-use disposable bioreactor systems (SUBs). Photographed in 2016.
