Description
Azhdarchid pterosaur mother and chicks, artwork. The Azhdarchidae were a family of huge pterosaurs that lived 108-65 million years ago. Some species grew wingspans of over 11 metres and stood over six metres tall. It is thought that pterosaurs laid thin shelled eggs, possibly underground, much like modern crocodiles do. When the young pterosaur chicks hatched, the parental involvement was thought to be minimal.
