Description
Australopithecus afarensis female, model used for a documentary about human evolution. A. afarensis (also called 'Lucy') is an early hominid, dating from about 3.2 million years ago. The fossils, discovered in Africa in 1974, indicate that it was bipedal, it walked on two legs. The blue dots on the model are points of reference for the computer modelling. The model was used for the French film-documentary A Species Odyssey (2003), directed by Jacques Malaterre. The film covered millions of years of human evolution and many different species of hominids.
