Description

Compressed air car. Air Car being filled with compressed air. This car is powered entirely by compressed air which produces zero polluting emissions. Tanks within the vehicle store up to 90 cubic metres of compressed air. The expansion of this air pushes the pistons in the engine, creating movement. A fully charged tank gives a driving range of approximately 150 kilometres (93 miles) and has a top speed of 110 kilometres per hour (68 miles per hour). It can be filled with air from a high pressure air station in 2 minutes, or via a mains connection for 4 hours. The Air Car is due for commercial production at the end of 2005.
