Description
Nuclear test site. Aerial view of the atomic bomb test site in Nevada, USA. A number of saucer- shaped craters have been caused by subsidence after underground nuclear tests. The craters vary is depth and diameter, depending upon the weapon's size and burial depth, as well as the geology of the area immediately around it. Seen here is the north end of Yucca Flat, the valley in which most tests held at Nevada have taken place.
