Artist's Description

Shell of the world's largest extant snail species, growing up to 91 centimetres. It also feeds on the world's longest worms, pulling them from sediment with its 25-centimetre tubular mouth. It is hunted in turn by humans, for its meat and its highly collectable shell. 20140882
