Artist's Description

Computer artwork of a graphene-oxide based sieve, removing salt from seawater. The graphene-oxide membrane could be used for water filtration, removing salt from sea water and turning it into drinking water. The sieve traps the salt, but allows water molecules to pass through. Graphene membrane systems like this could revolutionise the way of processing salt water, providing drinking water to people now having not sufficient access to it.
