Artist's Description
London Eye. This enormous structure, formerly known as the Millennium Wheel, opened in 2000 and, at 135 metres high, is the tallest observational wheel in the world. Each of the 32 observation pods around the outside of the wheel can carry up to 25 people. It takes 30 minutes for the London Eye to make a complete revolution and the view from the top of this 1600-tonne structure can be over 40 kilometres on a clear day. The London Eye was designed by David Marks and Julia Barfield. It is situated on the South Bank of the River Thames in London, England.
