Magic mushrooms. Liberty cap (Psilocybe semilanceata) mushrooms, growing wild. These fungi have a hallucinogenic effect when eaten, due to the presence of the active compounds psilocybin and psilocin. The dozens of mushroom species containing these compounds are termed magic mushrooms". Liberty caps are widespread in lawns and pastures in Britain. Photographed in Yorkshire Dales National Park, UK."
