Description
London Eye, on the south bank of the River Thames, Lambeth, London, UK. The London Eye is an observation wheel that rotates to raise its passenger capsules 135 metres above the ground, giving views over London. It was designed by architects David Marks and Julia Barfield, and was opened in 2000. The river flows south to north here, and this view looks west across St James's Park and Green Park. Buckingham Palace is surrounded by trees at centre. The Palace of Westminster (Houses of Parliament) is at far left, next to Westminster Bridge. Photographed on 20 August 2014.
