Description
Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis). Coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of a young rosemary flower, showing developing stamens. The stamens are male reproductive structures that consist of a filament (thin stalk) topped by a pollen-bearing anther (thicker structure at tip). Rosemary is a perennial herb used in herbal medicine to treat headaches and colds. It is also used as a tonic and as a food flavouring. Magnification: x30 when printed 10 centimetres wide.
