Description
Diseased grapefruit tree. Grapefruit tree infected with citrus greening disease. Also known as huanglongbing (HLB) or yellow dragon disease, it is caused by the Candidatus liberibacter bacteria, transmitted by the Asian citrus psyllid (Diaphorina citri). Symptoms include blotchy mottled leaves, and leaf yellowing. The disease can make fruit small, lopsided, and taste bitter. Once infected there is no cure. Photographed in Fort Pierce, Florida, USA.
