MODEL RELEASED. Botox treatment. Botox is a neurotoxin used for cosmetic purposes. The toxin is obtained from the Clostridium botulinum bacterium. This bacterium causes botulism, a form of bacterial food poisoning. Small, safe amounts of botox are injected into the muscles, paralysing them and smoothing wrinkles. One treatment can last for between three to six months.
