Description
Tennis for Two. Circuit diagram for a pioneering 1950s video game called 'Tennis for Two' Developed at Brookhaven National Laboratory, New York, USA, this two-player electronic tennis game was a forerunner of the modern video game. It was first introduced on 18 October 1958, at one of the Laboratory's annual visitors' days. The game was played with separate controllers that connected to an analogue computer and used an oscilloscope for a screen. The game's creator was US nuclear physicist William Higinbotham (1910-1994). Photographed in 2013.
