Description
Phoebe. Digitally rendered model of Saturn's largest outer moon Phoebe, constructed using data from NASA's Cassini spacecraft. The model shows that the moon, although irregular in its topography, has a fundamentally round shape. Phoebe has an average diameter of about 214 kilometres and is thought to be rich in ice. In this graphic it is shown from four different angles, separated by 90 degree rotations in the West longitudinal plane. The colouring corresponds to the height of the surface, with blue being low and red being high, spanning a range of about 16 kilometres. Cassini passed Phoebe at a range of 2,000km, on 11th June 2004.
