Natural History Museum's Diplodocus. Newspaper cartoon of 16 May 1905, illustrating how the new Diplodocus cast might be used at the Natural History Museum, London UK. This exhibit was unveiled on 12 May 1905 in the museum's Hall of Reptiles. It is 26 metres long, and is a replica of a fossil skeleton held at the Carnegie Museum, USA. The exhibit was moved to the Central Hall in 1979. Diplodocus was a sauropod dinosaur that lived 154 to 150 million years ago, during the Jurassic Period. This cartoon was published in the Westminster Gazette.
