Metal cans at a recycling centre. Compacted bales of metal cans and tins after recovery at a waste recycling centre. The cans and tins were obtained from waste sorted according to the material being recycled. Photographed at the Sims Municipal Recycling Facility at the South Brooklyn Marine Terminal, New York City, USA. Opened in 2013, this site has the capacity to process over 200,000 tons of plastic, glass and metal each year.
