This lacewing genus is common in much of North America, Europe and Asia. Their larvae are predatory and feed on aphids and members of this genus have been used in biological pest control. During the two to three weeks in this stage it will devour up to 200 small arthropods a week. Magnification: x12 when shortest axis printed at 25 millimetres.
