Different types of cilium, illustration. Two types of cilia are found in eukaryotes, motile and non-motile. Motile cilia have two variations of microtubule arrangements, either 9+2 (right) or 9+0 (centre) when seen in transverse section. Non motile cilia have a 9+0 (left) microtubule arrangement.
