Coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of Computer chip (microchip, microprocessor, integrated circuit) surface with dirt. Microchips are solid-state silicon semiconductor components that can process large amounts of data. They are the central part of devices such as computers. This integrated circuit has been made by imprinting microscopic electronic components onto the surface of a wafer of silicon. Integrated circuits can be made much smaller than non-integrated circuits. Magnification: x110 when shortest axis printed at 25 millimetres.
