Artist's Description

Timber logging. Loggers with a pile of felled and sawn logs piled high on a sledge for hauling over snow by horses. This photograph, dating from between 1880 and 1899, is from the archives of the company later called the Detroit Publishing Company, which specialised in photographs and postcards depicting landscapes and scenes in North America.
