Description
Sunlit clouds from space. Waves of cloud along the eastern side of the Andes Mountains glow orange due to the low angle of the sun at sunset. The view is looking South from northern Bolivia across the Andes mountain range. The curved limb of the Earth fades into the blackness of space (upper left). The terminator (the line dividing night from day) is at bottom left. Photographed by astronauts Frank Borman and James A. Lovell from the Gemini 7 spacecraft, which orbited Earth for fourteen days during December 1965.
