Artist's Description

Silbury Hill peak, aerial photograph. Silbury Hill is the tallest prehistoric man-made earth mound in Europe, part of the Avebury World Heritage site. Silbury Hill is composed principally of chalk from the surrounding area and is 40m high. Carbon dating suggests that it was built around 4,600 years ago though for what purpose is unclear. Local legend is that is the resting place of King Sil.
