Description
Scorpius constellation. Optical image of Scorpius, a large zodiacal constellation in the southern hemisphere that is visible in summer. The Sun passes through it in late November. Its brightest star is the red giant Antares (Alpha Scorpii, upper right). The central region of the Milky Way passes through the constellation, containing numerous nebulae (red) and star clusters.
