Description
Sailing ship taking part in a racing event. This sailing ship (STS 'Mir') is an example of a 'tall ship', a large, traditionally-rigged sailing vessel. A number of races are held annually by organisations to give people training in sailing and racing such ships. This ship is taking part in the Tall Ships' Races 2017 event, which took place from 30 June to 8 August 2017. A total of 95 ships took part, sailing between five ports on the Baltic Sea. The event was organised by Sail Training International. Photographed in July in Turku, Finland.
